Never-Ending Housework Blues

Sittin’ and thinkin’ of all the things I gotta do.
Wish I could find and easy way to get through.
Don’t have the time to do what I wanna choose
So I got never-ending housework blues.

Sometimes a phone call can take me half of a day.
No time to vacuum or put the dishes away.
When someone needs me how can I ever refuse,
So I’ve got never-ending housework blues.

‘Cause I’m buried in laundry, sinkin’ in the dishes,
Yeah, I’m kickin’ in clutter, and all that I wish is
To see the life at the end of the dustrag
And kick off these hard-workin; shoes
Kick off these work all day and never see an ending
Housework blues.

Five little fingers leave sticky marks on the wall,
Two little feet leave muddy tracks in the hall,
One little bandaid can fix a cut or a bruise,
But not these never-ending housework blues.

Wish I could leave all thoughts of housework behind,
Leave all those worries that always clutter my mind.
Think that I’ll take myself away on a cruise,
Away from never-ending housework blues.

I’m not trying to keep up with some high-tech machine,
‘Cause there’s more to life than spending all day to clean.
