Song Lyrics
True-Love Feelin’
Verse 1
How could there be another for me?
You came from my dreams and your mine.
And how can I tell you so you’ll understand
My love for you lasts beyond time.
There couldn’t be a love stronger than mine.
Couldn’t be someone better than you.
There won’t come a time when we say “Good-bye.”
We’ll find the strength to pull through.
Chorus
That true love feelin’, it goes on forever.
When darkness surrounds you let love show the way.
I get that true-love feelin’ when I look in your eyes,
And I think I’m gonna ask it to stay.
Verse 2
Come take my hand, we’ll begin our forever.
By your side each day I will stay.
No matter what lies ahead, we’ll be together.
We’ll cherish our love endlessly.
I look in your eyes, I see my hope for tomorrow,
My strength and my laughter today.
With you by my side I can face any sorrow.
This love of ours won’t fade away.
Chorus
Bridge
Baby when I say “I love you” I mean it from the heart,
And we both know from this day on we’ll never be apart.
Chorus

The Story Behind the Song
This song was written for the wedding of Gene and Michelle Warren. Gene had been a missionary companion to David and asked if we could sing at their wedding reception. He is a dairy farmer in Wyoming, and quite a cowboy at heart, so I wanted to write a song with more of a country feel to it. David and I sang it as a duet at their wedding, complete with guitar accompaniment. Now, many years later, that true-love feelin’ is still strong and alive for Gene and Michelle.
