The Story Behind the Song
One day I read about a tragedy that someone was going through which resulted in the loss of their foot, and I thought about the pain and discouragement they were feeling and how they would not be able to stand or walk on their own anymore. Then I thought of how there are so many people who are dealing with trials and tragedies. Then I realized that sometimes things can get so hard and discouraging that we just can’t find the strength on our own to make it through. And that’s when the Savior will carry us. And that is how the inspiration for this song came to be. Jesus Christ, the Prince of Peace, can bring peace to our hearts and comfort to our soul when we are troubled. He understands our pains and sorrows and He will carry us through our trials.
